As I sit here this afternoon preparing my newsletter, it’s only 2:30 but looks light night outside. Rain looks extremely inevitable! I got to thinking how much in our lives appear inevitable but unlike the weather, we actually are able to control.
We are always in full control of our lives, even when it feels like we aren’t. Of course, the trick is to have faith in yourself at all times, which is really difficult to do. As human beings, with human emotions, it’s very easy for us to place ourselves in the role of victim. This way, we don’t have to own our feelings, our reactions, our thoughts, our actions. When we play victim, we give ourselves a free pass – or at least, we think we are giving ourselves a free pass!
However, at some point in time, we will have to face up to that particular situation that we’re trying so hard to avoid, that we’re trying so hard to shift the responsibility onto someone else. Avoiding difficult and challenging events that arise in our lives, does not mean that we won’t have to deal with it, it’s just avoiding the inevitable – something like the rain that is inevitable this afternoon.
The control in our lives comes when we know that we are capable of weathering any storm, that we are capable of making the right decision for us that will benefit our lives. It’s about knowing that managing the hand that we are dealt, deflates the pressure that is placed on us when we don’t. It releases the stress, which we unnecessarily place on ourselves, and reintroduces us to our strengths, our true essence, which is that pure beautiful soul that has access to the amazing creative energy given to us by our Creator.
As spring rolls into the southern hemisphere, let this be a time for us all to change how we see ourselves. Let this be a time that we allow the beauty within to shine through in everything that we do. Let this be a time that we gather together every ounce of wisdom that we have accumulated over the many lifetimes that we have lived. And, let this be a time, when we forge ahead with our lives, connected to our higher selves, where all that accumulated wisdom resides.
My prayer for you all today, is that as we approach the ending off of an extremely challenging year, you will give yourself permission to acknowledge how beautiful you are, how courageous you are. Give yourself permission to look back on a year that brought most of us completely to our knees and when you do that, give thanks to whoever you perceive God to be, for the wonderful opportunity to be alive at this time. The spiritual growth that we have all achieved in just a few short months, is phenomenal and perhaps one that we won’t see in many years to come. Know without a shadow of doubt that you chose to be here at this time, to witness a global awakening like never before and allow yourself time to rejoice in the many blessings and beauty that is still to come.
May the light shine down on each one of you.
