“Symbolically lemons are associated with happiness; optimism; the sun and by association, Source; abundance, detoxification; joy. In summary, I could say a lemon symbolises the cleansing of one’s body & soul so as to transform the experience into an abundance of happiness, thereby feeling Light. Oooh, I’m feeling great already!
Why am I chatting lemons?
On mentioning to my daughter that I was to write this article for Spirit Connection but I hadn’t yet felt the creative avenue to write about, she threw at me “Write about lemons, spiritually”. So, I rose to the challenge and I’m so thrilled I did because the crazy thing is that this topic is a natural continuation of my previous article AND it is a wondrous pulling together of the theme of transformation.
Last time I wrote, I spoke of the need to break down the old so as to build up a new, better, more authentic foundation for myself. That’s the process. But then I need a HOW? What is it? What do you call it?
Just this morning I was listening to a fabulous lady I’ve recently come across online, Therese Tucker, (9) Karma Cards: FROM CONTRACTION TO EXPANSION pick-a-card reading – YouTube (well worth the watch), who described exactly the process – but in different words of course! – that I used to try and deal with my all fall down that day I referred to. She calls it PIVOTING. Cool word actually.
On that day, instead of curling up in a ball and hiding on my bed, constricting myself (hey, I’ve been known to do it and it does serve a purpose, sometimes…) I instead got out my sewing machine and made items of use for 2 special people in my life. I still had all of those tears and big feelings inside of me, but I didn’t constrict. I expanded. And from there I created.
Not only did I create 3 sewn items, I also created a chance to feel what I felt but without staying in a mode of distress. In addition, I created an opportunity to see things in a more optimistic light which meant I could write about it freely last month. I didn’t want to feel whilst in a mode of flight or fight. I was prepared to feel what I felt but I wanted to feel it AND feel supported and held in Love at the same time. Pivoting. Transforming. Creating. It all helped me to feel and process whilst being my own support system. I became my own strength and structure. I backed me and supported myself by using an act of authentically being me (I enjoy sewing & crafting and I love to make things for other people). Through the creative and transformative process of what Therese calls Pivoting, I welcomed in the possibility of alchemy and curiosity for my life and my emotions. And for this Scorpio Rising lady of Venusian Sun in Taurus, transforming things is my secret power as well as my baseline manner in which I create the harmony and beauty of life that I’m always seeking (think Ferdinand the Bull, just smelling the flowers!).
In response to my daughter’s challenge, I gave her one too of course! I told her to find talents or things that she was grateful for, one for each letter of ‘LEMONS’. Ready for a challenge, I tried it too. Here’s what I came up with.
I am thankful for:
L – Life
E – Emotions (also Emma)
M – Me (also Michelle, Michael)
O – Omniverse
N – Now
S – Support
Lemons basically sums up my life! Funny that. (Bracketed peeps are my important relationships)
In exploring the lemon topic, and how to write about it, with a spiritual twist so to speak, I also understood, for myself, that creativity and transformation go hand in hand. I argue often with myself that I’m not creative and yet, I fully embrace transformation. What I shall now have to reframe, is that I fully embrace my creativity too. Why? Because creativity is the ability to make something from something else. Sounds exactly like transformation to me!!!
So. Life gives us lemons. Yes. It does. And what do we do with the lemons? We pivot them. We transform them. We alchemise them. Then we savour the fruits of our creative abilities and enjoy lemonade as reward. And I successfully transformed the challenge of writing about lemons into a creative joy and sharing. On that Light note, I trust you enjoy your lemons too.”
Much love always
