I think we can all agree that collectively the one thing we are all searching for is happiness. And what exactly is happiness? Defined by my ever-faithful google search, happiness is an emotional state characterized by feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfilment. While happiness has many different definitions, it is often described as involving positive emotions and life satisfaction. … Happiness is generally linked to experiencing more positive feelings than negative.
Individually we all have our own definition of what happiness means to us, and probably the more pressing question is how do we find true and complete happiness? When we are happy, we are able to make clear decisions in our lives, and our creativity is at a high. Even more importantly, people who are happy are more likely to make a positive contribution to society. And why is this?
True happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done and the zest of creating things new. I think this is something we need to all take particular note of. We are born into a world where our spiritual evolution is directly linked to being of service to one another. When we are able to make a positive contribution to someone else’s life, we automatically feel happy. There is most definitely a joy that is experienced when we see someone’s positive reaction to something that we have done for them.
There is always a spin-off from these interactions, and that is that we feel happiness, we feel good about ourselves. Our self-confidence gets a boost and then the cycle begins again, because with positive feelings about ourselves, we are automatically in a better position to create a fulfilling life for ourselves. What you put out is going to come back – we know that for a fact.
Deeds well done don’t always need to only be for others, they can be for ourselves too. Because by the same token, when we do something good for ourselves, we are able to feel happy and content and self-fulfilled. A tremendous boost to our own self-love! And self-love promotes self-confidence which in turn promotes creativity. Creativity of a beautiful life, creativity of a strong foundation where we’re able to take on life’s daily challenges and overcome. Creativity of positive relationships that brings fulfillment to everyone involved.
My wish for you dear friends, is that this is the year where you find true happiness, where you can feel that pure perfect joy of a deed well done and that your zest of creating things new is enhanced and strengthened through the satisfaction that you feel from a life well-lived.
