There are many varied modalities that facilitate healing for us as human beings. Essentially, any healing that we are seeking, promotes the spiritual evolution of our soul. There is not absolute choice for anything that one requires healing for – whatever it is that you feel most drawn to or whatever resonates with you, will always be the best choice for you at that point in time. Healing practitioners are available and have given themselves in service to humanity through working with their Spirit Guides to bring healing to those who need what they offer. However, healing is always a collaboration and so the person seeking healing needs to be open to what will be given to them and know that they are in fact working in conjunction with their healer of choice.
It’s important to note that all healing, whatever it is that is needed, will always be given in accordance with the journey of that particular soul.

The higher chakras relate to the spiritual. If the chakras become unbalanced, it can cause a malfunction in the associated area. It also works the other way around. We can cause blockages with our behaviour and emotions. To keep the chakras balanced so that energy can flow freely, it is necessary to work on them regularly. This may be done using visualisation of chakras and chakra colours, chakra meditation, working with chakra crystals or chakra stones, using sound or by having a healer work on you. It is this resonance that gives crystals their healing abilities. The impulses are very subtle but the neurological system of the body is able to recognize them and receive them. Each crystal has its own unique energy which may be used to achieve a specific purpose. Healing Herbs – Herbs have been used for healing since the beginning of time. Most villages had a healer or a hedge witch who knew the best herbal remedies to use for illnesses and healing. Herbs are in great demand for their healing powers because many people dislike the side effects of so many modern pharmaceuticals. Reiki Healing – The word Reiki is made from two Japanese words –
-
- Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and
- Ki which is “life force energy”.
Thus Reiki is “spiritually guided life force energy.” Reiki was developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui. It’s a Japanese spiritual, vibrational healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing by balancing and strengthening the energies of the body. It is administered by the light laying on (or hovering) of hands. A Reiki massage is the same. It’s based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If your life force energy is low, then you are more likely to get sick or feel stressed. If it’s high, you are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki treatment is usually facilitated by light, non-manipulative touch to a clothed recipient.
Shamanic Healing – A shaman is a person who interacts with the physical world and the world of spirits. Shamans are common in tribal cultures but many people are turning towards shamanism. The role of a tribal shaman was to take care of the physical and spiritual health of the members of the tribe. They were also expected to invoke spirits to help the tribe or to see into the future or interpret particular omens.
They were expected to redirect and move energies to –
- restore harmony within a person
- restore harmony between that person and their community and
- restore harmony between the community and the spirit world so that everything was back in balance.
In Shamanism, there is a particular point where the physical and spiritual worlds connect. This point is seen as the centre of the world. Anyone studying to be a Shaman had to find that point and cross over into the world of spirits. They returned with special powers and knowledge.
Sound Healing – Sound has been used as a healing tool for thousands of years. The Hindis use mantras and tribal peoples from Central and South America use the Icaros or medicine melodies. The goal of sound therapy is to put a person’s energies back into balance.
Therapeutic Touch– Therapeutic Touch is a form of light, or no touch energy healing that was developed and standardized in the 1970’s by Delores Krieger, PhD, RN, professor emeritus of Nursing at New York University, and Dora Kunz, a gifted energy healer. It’s a contemporary interpretation of several ancient laying-on-of-hands healing practices and is useful because the standardization has facilitated research and evaluation of the effects of treatment.
