The whole world is focusing on Covid-19, what strange and unusual times we find ourselves in. Just looking at our own country, South Africa sure has it’s challenges. We are such a diverse nation and we all have such varied circumstances in terms of housing and access to available funds. Some people have been fortunate to be able to prepare for our lock-down much more than others. At the same time, I have seen so many reports of people really caring about those who are less fortunate and trying in some small way to make a difference.
The one thing I can say about South Africans is that we are an amazing nation. Because when the proverbial hits the fan, we have the capacity to come together as one. And for me it’s so heartening to see how many people around the world are doing the same. Italians singing to each other across their balconies. Indian people leaving small food parcels in the city centre for those less fortunate and in fact, this has happened in many other countries too. So for me what we’ve been shown is that we as a human race, one nation all together, when literally brought to our knees, have the capacity to set aside all ego, all feelings of separation, and we really can come together to help lighten each other’s load in some small way.
This is what is expected of us every day and in every possible way, not just when we hit crisis point. It is time for us all to do some soul-searching. To see if we can be as honest with ourselves as we’ve ever been, and to see if we actually do care. And how do we know we care? We do it through our actions. It’s not just about paying lip-service to appease a guilty conscience. It’s about actually taking the time to say something nice, do something nice for someone else. It’s really not easy whilst we are in lock down. However, the guides will always help us to find a way.
So this is such a short article, but I hope it’s of some inspiration to you. Just know that Spirit are with us and they are working so hard to bring the light to us. For those who are more spiritually minded and understand the laws of the universe, we understand that when we resist change, eventually we will brought to an uncomfortable space, where we can no longer fight against it. We know for sure that this is evident in our own lives, where through emotional upheaval not dealt with, Spirit will bring us to a point of surrender no matter how uncomfortable.
I suppose no-one ever expected this on such a global scale, but it’s here and we, as one nation, with one focus, can make the world a much better place. Start now, so that by the time we come through this awful experience, we will reap the benefits of a much more compassionate and caring world, one that we are all happy to be a part of.
