Happy Spring Day, here in the Southern hemisphere!
As I contemplate Spring, I feel the magical essence of pink blossoms and flower posies that have adorned the heads of my daughters for the last 16 odd years every Spring Day. I sense the stirrings of life force being celebrated as again, rhythms within cycles bring back to us the renewed opening to rejuvenated and realigned energies of possibilities. Breathing within me is the reverent joy for Mother Nature and her flower beauties. Warmth on my back and sand on my bare feet become reawakened as I know the days take me into this next phase of annual seasons. And Spring’s purpose: to awaken to the re-new-ed.
In this world as we are currently experiencing it – with its fear, virus worries, vaccine debates, new world order plans and an ever expanding exposure of information about how we have our lives controlled for us daily in ever increasing doses – we are easily overwhelmed and stressed into states of ill health and extreme levels of discomfort.
We all need as many reminders of the glory and beauty of life experiences as possible, to buoy ourselves up now and to keep our vibe high. Why do we need this? I believe it is tantamount to our human purpose for being on earth, to be living life to our fullest. That is a very different picture for each individual, however, every one of us is embodied, as we are, with human qualities of trust, hope, perseverence, strength, joie de vivre and hearts that know love is a good thing. As a weaver bird knows to weave a nest for his potential wife, and a salmon knows to swim upstream back to its beginnings, us humans know how to look outside of ourselves, and within, for simple pleasures and small joys that abound anywhere we choose to look.
When we do this, we elevate those simplicities into enlarged energy points that can get bigger and spread further and realign us more and more. We need only to start with a glorious sunrise, truly appreciating and seeing it, to have it expand into a day at work, home or play that is productive and enjoyed. A brief but sincerely friendly conversation with a shop teller can roll out into a feel good emotion and remembering about how good humans actually are. Shining out a big smile at a stranger can swell into a sense of one’s own happiness and contribution to making the world a kinder place. Watching dolphins play in the surf for a few moments can give rise to remembering to play with your kids when you next see them. You get the idea…
And so it is that I welcome in new beginnings, extra sunrays and additional warmth to lift my spirits as I turn up the music and get outdoors more as part of my self responsibility to create my best possible life full of joy-full vibes. I choose to do this so that I keep my mental, emotional and physical immune system strong.
By remembering to breathe, really breathe, into my belly.
By grounding myself on the Earth, lying flat on the grass.
By doing some moderate exercise, walking with purpose.
By including 10 minutes per day of sunshine to lift my spirits and my Vit D levels.
By taking probiotics for gut and brain health.
By choosing creative expression in the form of writing or doodling.
By spending time in nature over weekends.
By giving looooong hugs and cuddles to my loved ones.
I ensure that with all of these things listed above, my vagal nerve stimulation occurs, thereby swtiching off my sympathetic nervous system and switching on my parasympathetic nervous system.
I’m looking after myself and living my life to the fullest. I re-new my life force and contribute good vibes, and a healthy presence to my family, my community and my world. If each one of us recognises more and more that we are contributors to and creators of our environments, then we elevate our sense of worth and our sense of purpose – and just like that snowball gathering more snow on the hill as it travels along its path, we gather more remembrance and recognition of our magnificent and true love light essence selves, and we then roll on through our life’s pathways in more expanded ways.
Why do I want to do that? Why do I choose to make the effort to find ways to counteract the overwhelm and chaotic sense of our current world? Why do I look to share these little tools of simplicity with friends and family that communicate their worries, struggles and concerns about our future? I do it because I want to know flowers in the hair of my daughters for many years to come. It is in that simple beauty of a flower behind an ear, and a conscious recognition of life’s cycles and nature through celebration and acknowledgment that I purposely engage with living my best life ever.
My wish for you? Renewed celebration of life as we harness the rejuvenation that Spring represents for us, and many beautiful flowers in the hair of the ones you love. Remember to slip a special one behind your ear too!
Much love always
