Open your Heart this Valentine’s Day Weekend by immersing yourself in The HEART SUTRA in a weekend workshop.
Together, in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, we will share and explore the wisdom and magic of the Heart by practicing sitting and walking meditation, yoga, dance and song. Join us as we delve into the ancient wisdom and celebrate the Prajńaparamita – a sacred Mahayana text pointing us towards the reality of Interbeing.
The workshop will be facilitated by dharma teacher Ava Avalos, MD, a seasoned practitioner of Zen and HIV/TB Specialist. Both beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome. Copies of the Heart Sutra at R200 a copy, translated by Thich Nhat Hanh, can be ordered upon booking by emailing [email protected]. The copies will be made available for purchase at the workshop.
TRC is a peaceful healing centre in the African bushveld. It is situated in a wooded valley of the Groot Marico District, bounded by perennial streams, and surrounded by rolling hills, on 280 hectares of land. The environment is pristine, the air and water are unpolluted and the night sky is fantastic.
We have established Four Wings of activity: healing therapies, environmental preservation, spiritual development and community activities. These serve to accomplish our overall vision of supporting people to develop wisdom and compassion.
