Living your life in gratitude, aligned to your purpose, your higher self, and striving to always be your best self, is about reconnecting to who you intrinsically are. Some people refer to this process as becoming enlightened, some refer to is as an awakening. And yes it is, but not in the way that these words have been bandied about, especially recently. Awakening or enlightenment is not something special that only some people are able to access. Awakening and enlightenment is that personal and unique phenomenon, that occurrence that happens within you, when you realise and understand your profound connection to the Universal Consciousness. Within that realization, you come to know that it is divine law that you have with you a Spirit Guide. And it is your divine right to know your Spirit Guide.
The following is an excerpt from the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying : “Enlightenment, as I have said, is real and each of us, whoever we are, can in the right circumstances, and with the right training, realise the nature of mind and so know in us what is deathless and eternally pure. This is the promise of all the mystical traditions of the world, and it has been fulfilled and is being fulfilled in countless thousands of human lives.” What this teacher is saying here is that to realise the infinite eternal existence of the Soul, opens your mind to enlightenment. It opens you up to consciously becoming aware that you are more than a physical human being and with that realization comes endless opportunities for you to explore the Spiritual aspect of yourself.
As spiritual beings here on earth, we are constantly engaged in the pursuit of living our lives. Everything that we create is about life on one level or another, for life is creativity itself. Each and every one of us has been given life so that we may experience peace, love, joy, good health and prosperity in abundance. When we acknowledge and consciously connect to our Spirit Guides, we realise that we are constantly being encouraged by them in every aspect of our life. When we take the time to focus on the positive side of our lives, living a life of gratitude for what we have, and not focusing on what we believe we lack, we get to understand that we have a very real and profoundly sound connection to the Universal Consciousness. It’s like we finally know that we are part of a bigger picture and in that knowing, we start to focus less on the pursuit of living our lives for the sake of it, but make a conscious decision to make our lives count.
There has been a lot said about the process of activating awareness, and many people report having negative physical experiences as they have become more open to the subtle energies around them. For instance, there are those who say that they become drawn into the sadness and emotional trauma that all people around them are feeling, whether these people are known to them or not. It is said that this affects them in their daily life and because of this, there is some reluctance to releasing the self to any kind of awakening experience. I met my main Spirit Guide, Oshvaria in 1997 – when I say met, this was my first conscious connection with her in this lifetime. Over the many years that I have let my energy become fully intertwined with hers, I cannot remember a time when I felt adversely affected by her energy, or anyone else’s energy around me, be that other human beings or beings that I have connected to in the Spirit Realm.
We have to acknowledge that we are easily influenced by what others say, mainly because most of us walk around with imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is something we all experience from time to time – it’s that belief that there will always be someone else who knows better and more than us, confirming for us that we know very little and that what we believe is wrong, or how we feel is wrong, or what we know is wrong. It must be, because someone else has a different explanation or theory to us. I see so many facebook posts where you can read about the 7 symptoms of awakening or the five things that tell you that you are becoming enlightened – I’m sure you know what I mean – we’ve all said these. Please, the next time you see one of them and be objective in what you observe in the message. They will all give you negative symptoms, negative things to be aware of and if you are experiencing these negative things, that’s how you are experiencing awakening. I call nonsense on this!
Awakening is a process that brings light into your life and where there is light there can be no negative experience. You may be feeling overwhelmed and because of this, you feel tired or you get a headache. Becoming more aware of the subtle energies of the spirit realm around you, can be overwhelming and can sometimes affect you from a physical perspective, but this is temporary. My message here is to caution you to be aware of how easily we are drawn to the negative – it is inherently human to operate in protective mode, it’s how we have survived over millions of years. What I want you to look for is that beauty that awakening to a new way of living brings you. I want you to experience the lightness that you feel – it’s not a burden to become awakened! It is a celebration of you connecting to yourself, you who has always been – your beautiful and perfect soul. Share it with others through your behaviour, through your actions and your reactions. Embrace it and see that it is the Universe showing you your true essence – how marvellous is that?!
