I’m often asked how do I connect with the guides and our loved ones who have crossed over in order to facilitate conversation during a reading. I truly wish that this was a straightforward process, but it isn’t. Having said that, I will try my best to explain what happens when I do a reading.
For ease of explanation, if Jane is coming for a reading, I will always connect with my guide through meditation prior to her arrival. This essentially is a way of respecting the guides and our loved ones and allows for us to ‘set up a meeting’ with spirit at a particular chosen time. During my meditation, I will get insight into perhaps some things about Jane, if it is necessary for me to know this as part of the message to her. I will also get an inkling as to who would like to connect with her.
What then happens is that when Jane arrives for her reading, telling her what I have already picked up prior to her arrival allows firstly for her to validate what I have received and secondly, it opens up the channels of communication. Once the channel of communication is open, I get a sense, a feeling, an impression of images – mostly a combination of all – which allows me to convey to Jane who is coming through and what they have to say. I always liken what I see and feel as how I would imagine a blind person sees.
Bearing in mind that I am merely a channel for conversation between Jane, her guides and her loved ones, the reading will be made so much more rewarding for Jane, if I get input from her and she sees it as a conversation between those who have gathered in the room, rather than a one-sided conversation and her keeping quiet. Because of the process of getting messages from our loved ones which as I understand it, is conveyed through my guide to me, there is always the possibility that I may misinterpret or misread what is being said which is also why validation and input from Jane is so important. The last thing any medium wants is for someone to leave a reading feeling unfulfilled and dissatisfied.
