A phrase I use often, and apply often, is “Have an attitude of Gratitude”.
This phrase resonates for me because of its simplicity and its power message. We’ve possibly all heard it before and we’ve certainly heard enough times that we should focus more on the positive than the negative because our thoughts begin to shape our world and our personal reality. So I’m guessing this is old news for most readers.
However, what may not be so top of mind or as ingrained in our knowing of what we could/should be doing is the HOW TO create that gratitude, be it in attitude or action. And why would we need to create this attitude if it is Universal knowledge and should be second nature to our co-creator selves? Well, for one I feel most people are not yet aware of or understanding of their co-creative selves. A grand generalisation I hope for – I’d love to know and feel that more and more are not just aware of but actually engaging with their co-creator talents and making things happen and making their personal realities something that brings them joy and thriving.
Secondly, even those of us that know we are co-creators and know that positive breeds positive, do we consciously go about playing with this super power? Do you recognise that whilst we are spiritual beings and have much spiritual knowledge, our sojourn onto Earth is about living that spirit and its reality here in the 3D world of matter and senses of a physical nature? We know we are to be spiritual and remain grounded. We know that to manifest we must ground our intentions, but how do you ground an attitude, especially one of gratitude?
My answer: By creating!
In my personal experience, attitude evolves out of the act of living. Even before living the attitude, I’ve needed to be living fully and by that I mean fully present in my own body with awareness and Be-ing conscious of my choices of action.
So to help me create an attitude of gratitude, it works for me that I action an expression of myself that can create, so that I’m working tangibly, uniting hands, heart and will. When I want something to happen or I want to make a shift in my consciousness, I personally need a creative exercise that I can feel into. I literally create – and from that I not only use my mind to capture the gratitude I have or can find in my life’s segments, but I also use my heart to intend and weave into the exercise a sense of the very feelings I wish to have – in this case Gratitude. This can work just as well for Joy, Peace, Harmony etc.
When it comes to gratitude, my most successful actions have been to draw and write in a journal type way.
• I tangibly feel the pen in my hand as I write my internal reflections of what I’m grateful for. Journaling style.
• I feel into my feelings about what I’m grateful for – in my body and in my heart. I then find a way to capture that feeling of that thing that I’m giving thanks about and I put it onto paper.
• I verbally share with my close family/friends what it is I’m thankful for.
• I physically use my hands to draw – doodles, pictures, symbols, decorative letters and words.
• I verbally express, using my type of lingo, words of gratitude for others and their talents that I admire and appreciate.
• I physically make gifts for people using my crafting type skills. I’ve knitted, painted, drawn, woven, beaded, sewn, decoupaged, fired in a kiln, grown plants and handmade cards & gifts as an avenue for showing the recipient just how much I’m grateful for their presence on Earth and in my life.
• I verbally record WhatsApp voice notes of love and appreciation for a special someone in the moment that I’m reminded of them.
• I’ve picked up nature’s gifts, shells, stones, leaves and used them as symbols of just how thankful I am for nature and the Earth.
• I’ve appreciated more and more as I get older the pleasure sensations my body communicates to me through touch, intimacy and hugging.
• I intentionally communicate with my body, thanking it when its worked hard or worked well.
There are many ways you can immerse yourself in the creation of gratitude attitude. These are just my ways. I urge you to try out your own co-creative, 3 dimensional versions of living your beautiful Being self that brings into reality the attitude that comes naturally on the back of the act of creation. Creatively action all things that you are thankful for: Doodle. Draw. Write. Speak. Cook. Craft. Make music. Dance. See. Sew. Gift. Phone. Etc. Infinite possibilities…
Wishing you much curiosity and creativity in the act of you creating. In this way, you are living and being your co-creative self and living the attitude of gratitude.
Much love always
Colette
