There are sceptics out there who do not believe that we can communicate with the spirit world. In fact, they’re probably the same people who don’t believe that there is a spirit world to start off with – kind of like when you’re dead, you’re gone for good. There is a school of thought that to be psychic is to be doing cold-reading. Cold-reading being somehow reading information about someone from their energy and turning that into a reading. Many people question if there is any difference between being psychic, clairvoyant, clairsentient, clairaudient, a medium – for me they’re all the same.
I call myself a Clairvoyant Medium, Spiritual Life Coach and Teacher – but when it all comes to the very basics, I am someone who is able to connect to the energies of spirit guides and loved ones who have passed over into spirit. Through that connection, I am able to interpret what I’m being shown, what is being said and what emotions are being conveyed. This is how I am able to do a reading.
Energy is very important when doing readings. It is the very basis of a reading. For me, the best readings that I do are done face to face, in the same room. Somehow the exchange of energy is far stronger and really, it’s just so much easier to have a conversation with someone when they’re in the same room as you. That doesn’t mean that readings can’t be done online. Energies are picked up just as strongly when a reading is done online and I suppose that it’s all a matter of preference. I do a lot of readings where I only have a photo of a person with questions. I then sit with my guides, and channel the messages, typing them up and then emailing them to my client. I can pick up a lot of energy from a photo!
I am an extreme extrovert and I love to interact with people. My readings reflect this in so many ways – my working with my client coaching and teaching, also reflect this. I am very fortunate in that I am able to communicate with people in a way that makes us feel like we’re old friends and have known each other all our lives. This really helps me when I’m doing readings too. My clients always leave feeling like they’ve been sitting in a room, having a conversation with their loved one, or connecting to their spirit guides to get the advice and inspiration that they need.
We exchange energies every day, even when we’re not aware of it. This makes me wonder why any question would arise as to whether or not a medium is reading your energy or connecting to spirit. The process of doing a reading is yet to be explained by anyone that I know who does this work. There are times when I think I get it, where I think, okay this is how we do it. But, every reading is so individual and so different, that I can only say that there are many aspects that come into play. It’s about connecting to your client – and yes it’s their energy that you pick up on just as they pick up on yours. It’s about connecting to your spirit guides. Connecting to their spirit guides. Connecting to their loved ones. Everything is energy. And within all that connecting, a conversation is sparked and takes place.
When energy is passed from medium to client or teacher to client, in a positive and confident manner, in a way that makes your client feel loved, understood and heard; your client will feel the positivity and confidence and through this beautiful exchange of energy, a beautiful reading will happen. I know that this happens in my readings. I calculated a while ago that I’ve done in excess of 5000 readings. Of those 5000 readings, I can say with absolute confidence, that only a handful of people have walked away disappointed. Perhaps in those instances expectations weren’t met. Perhaps in those instances, I wasn’t bringing to them what they wanted to hear – I don’t know, but I don’t dwell on it.
Advice for when you have a reading? Express your expectations for your reading when it starts. Tell your medium what you’re hoping to achieve – I promise you, you’re not giving anything away! Ask questions. In fact, I encourage anyone coming for a reading to bring questions with them. Especially when they have challenges in their life that they’re looking to get answers for. Or if they have many people in spirit and of these, there are specific people that they’re wanting to hear from. It certainly does help to facilitate a great reading.
Please just remember that we are all energy, all spirit is energy, the universe is energy, the universal consciousness is made up of energy. Without it, we would not be!
