As we edge our way out of winter and into warmer days, (yes I know we still have some time to go but I remain optimistic!) it’s time to freshen up, clear out, dust off the cobwebs and embrace the newly invigorated energy of the sun. For me, it is any way! I absolutely love summer. I love everything that comes with beautiful hot sunshine. Just walking out the door in the morning, everything feels lighter, happier, brighter.

And why not allow those energies to invigorate us as well? The onset of summer also brings with it, the winding down of the year. And if you can believe it, we only have a few months to go to the end of 2023. Now, take a deep breath and take that in! What have you done this year that has been of benefit to you? How much of this year have you made your own? I sincerely hope that you can answer that saying 100%. “I have made everything about me this year!” And guess what, I still have some time to do it!
And why not? It really isn’t being selfish making everything about you. Because when you feed yourself positive and beautiful energy, when you feed yourself love and kindness and pay attention to what your body is telling you you need, then you are so much stronger and so much more able to give to others. Remember that you cannot give what you haven’t got and so it’s important to always take yourself into account. Be nice, be kind, be gentle, be caring, be understanding (of yourself, yes!) and be less harsh. Because when you are, you find that these same behaviours resonate out into your environment and your every interaction with others.
Our time on this earth is so precious. It’s an opportunity given to us by our Father/Mother God, Creator of all that is, to infuse our souls with perfection. It’s an opportunity for us to work with our soul families to infuse that perfection into them as well. Look around you at all the beautiful people who surround you every day. See what it is that they have to give to you and ask yourself what do you have to offer in return.
My wish for everyone is that we make it our priority to remain positively focused on our lives. To be thankful for everything that we have and that includes the difficult experiences. For it is in those difficult experiences that our greatest blessings lie. Because the difficult experiences force us to go within, they force us to dig deep and find who we are. Understand that we are imperfect beings and that is what makes us beautiful! It’s not a negative trait, it is what we are.
In her book, the Gifts of Imperfection, Brene Brown describes the dig-deep button: “You know the dig-deep button, right? It’s the button that you rely on when you’re too bone-tired to get up one more time in the middle of the night, or to do one more load of throw-up-diarrhea laundry, or to catch one more plane, or to return one more call, or to please/perform/perfect the way you normally do even when you just want to flip someone off and hide under the covers. The dig-deep button is a secret level of pushing through when we’re exhausted and overwhelmed, and when there’s too much to do and too little time for self-care.”
Another inspiring message from Brene Brown is this : “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
So I’ll leave you with this message and invite you all today, own your story, start living your life for yourself and in so doing, embrace your soul family, the perfection and imperfection. Go forth and be brave. Show the world what amazing courageous creatures you are.
