The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realise their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realise that at the centre of the universe dwells The Great White Spirit, and that this centre is really everywhere, it is within each of us. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals. The third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is known that true peace, which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men. There is a yearning within each one of us that we live in peace, that we all get to experience a peaceful existence, free of sickness and suffering, hatred, wars and killing. And these words of wisdom from Black Elk, should be heeded by everyone. In searching for peace without, we need to first seek that peace within. It most certainly does come when we realise our deep and profound relationship with our oneness, the universe and all its powers. And when this realization is made, we allow ourselves to experience our beautiful connection to The Great White Spirit – the Creator of everything that lives, moves and breathes.
When one experiences deep peace within, it’s so much more possible to form those peaceful connections to others, whether that be on a one to one level, within groups of people or extending out to nations.
Let today be the day that you begin to make peace your reality. It starts with how you behave towards yourself, how you treat yourself and what you think of yourself. It then extends out to how you behave towards others, how you treat others and what you allow yourself to think of others. Become consciously aware of this aspect of yourself and when you find yourself saying something that is hurtful or even thinking something that is negative, stop, correct yourself and set things right, then and there. Withdraw your negative thoughts from the universal consciousness and wrap them in pure white light so that they can be transmuted to positive energy.
