I’ve been doing so much thinking this last week – developing a new course will get you doing that!
It may be that we’re half-way through the 3rd month of the year, but I have learned so much this year, it feels like it could be going on December already. I thought I’d share some of these thoughts with you :
- No matter what happens to you, the world keeps on turning
- The best way to get through any negative experience is to surround yourself with positive people
- No matter what, learn from your mistakes. It’s just a waste of time to keep yourself in the same self-destructive repetitive cycle that keeps bringing you back to the same place.
- This one is big – take care of yourself physically!
- Always be good to others and practise daily gratitude. You’ll soon see how your mindset changes for the better
- Don’t ever think you’re too old to learn something new. Taking on new challenges keep your mind sharp and you feeling young
- Always believe in yourself even if it feels like no-one else does
- Our beliefs become our thoughts. Our thoughts become our words. Our words become our habits. Our habits become our values. Our values become our destiny
- Even though the future feels far away, it’s actually beginning right now
- Never plan a future with people who don’t have future plans
- Stop expecting so much of others and nothing of yourself
- Make it a habit to be constantly pursuing developing great personal relationships
- Stay inspired every day. Motivation can only come from within, but surrounding yourself with inspiring books, affirmation cards and people, will help you stay inspired
- Detox from all things digital every day, for at least one hour each day
- Stop complaining. Make it a personal project to not complain for an entire month – see how easily you’ll discover all the positive things about your life
- Edit your life, frequently! Stop doing things that make you unhappy. Don’t spend time with people who bring you down
- Face your fears as they arise. Don’t let them build up to that point where you’re so overwhelmed you can’t face any of them
- Meditate for at least 10 minutes every day
- Be resilient – no matter how many times you fail, keep trying
- Learn to let go – stop hanging on to things and people who don’t benefit your life
Whilst these abovementioned thoughts / ideas may appear random, they actually make a lot of sense – at leas to me they did. I certainly help they do to you.
I guess what I’m trying to do is it’s time to focus on yourself and yes, you hear this every day. But what I mean is really focus on yourself and get to know who you are. Most of us think we know ourselves, but when we actually take time to sit and give it some deep thought, we actually haven’t got a clue who we are. Ask yourself if you’re happy. Ask yourself what’s your absolute favourite thing to do. Ask yourself how much you like yourself. Ask yourself how much fun are you live with. And then just like you would any friend, tell yourself what you should be doing to be happy, to get to know what your absolute favourite thing to do is. To find out if you actually like yourself or what you can do to make that happen. Put the work in. Make yourself a priority in your life. Start to become the person that you so deeply want to be.
You may be asking where all this comes from – well you see I’ve been writing a Personal Development course entitled Power Up – Dare to be yourself!
