Your Spirit Guide has a personality just as you do. I have encountered so many people’s Spirit Guides and each one has their own unique way of presenting themselves. Other than how they convey to you how they look, some Spirit Guides have the most incredible sense of humour, some are very serious, some are lighthearted to the point that you just feel totally uplifted in their presence. Some Spirit Guides make their personality known to you through the power of their energy, the amount of power that you pick up from them when they’re around. You may have a Spirit Guide who when on the earth had a particularly deep affinity to the animal kingdom and so that compassion for animals will still come across in their personality as they present themselves to you.
My main Spirit Guide, Oshvaria, having been a traditional healer in her last life, as well as having passed into spirit when she was close to 100 years old, comes across with the love of a mother that I cannot describe to anyone. She is also deeply compassionate with great wisdom and loves to see people feel good about themselves. She understands the human psyche so much and I have come to learn so much from her both from just my daily interaction with her, and from my readings that I do. She has always encouraged me to help people understand why they are going through a particularly challenging time. In turn, this has helped me to look at my life, to understand so much about my life and I know that I am so much better off for having formed this strong and beautiful connection to this most amazing Spirit Being. My Spirit Guide Kevin, who is a teaching shared guide, has shown me the importance of being able to see into our past lives. Through making the connection to our past lives, we get to understand our current lives. The depth of these amazing relationships that I have with these two incredible Spirit Guides, is what my hope is for you. And it’s not impossible – it can be done.
Your Spirit Guide will use your thoughts a lot to communicate with you. So if you imagine yourself talking to yourself, those conversations take place in your head. We all talk to ourselves all the time. Our inner voices comment on events as they unfold, they narrate plans or imagined circumstances, and make private comments that we don’t want others to hear. Our inner voices express our thoughts, bringing them into our awareness. It is, indeed, hard to imagine life without an inner voice. When you talk to yourself you’re intentionally taking in your surroundings. Inner dialogue usually sounds similar to the way you would speak to others. For me, it just makes perfect sense to take this inner dialogue one step further and use it to communicate with your Spirit Guide. It just means that you’re adding another person into the conversation! And the beauty is that the answers that you get will be coming from someone who is able to assist you, rather than just you answering you. And this is how you solidify the communication with your Spirit Guide. Make it your daily routine. Make it a part of your day so that it becomes second nature to have someone – your Spirit Guide – residing inside your head so to speak.
Greet your Spirit Guide every morning when you wake up and say thank you to them for being with you through the night. If you remember something particular that happened through the night, acknowledge it to them. You may have heard a noise that scared you for a while, you may have woken from a bad dream, you may have gone to bed with a worry on your mind that you now feel confident you can tackle. Of course it is your Spirit Guide who has helped you through those moments. Of course it is your Spirit Guide who has provided you with an answer to your solution, even when you feel like you just know what the answer is – where do you think it came from?
Even when it is that you are focusing on your daily work, turn your thoughts to your Spirit Guide. Think of them knowing that they are at your side. You can even imagine in your head a space next to you that they occupy and refer to that space when you chat to them. I know it sounds crazy and of course other people may think you’re crazy, but you will know and your Spirit Guide will know that you’re not crazy at all and that’s what matters. They love that we acknowledge their presence. They love that we include them in everything in our daily life because essentially we are affording them the opportunity to do their job, which is to be in service to us. For me that’s quite humbling. We are honoured to have our Spirit Guides with us, so I encourage you to treat the relationship that you form with them as sacred and never lose sight of the fact that they are actually very highly evolved Spirit Beings offering up themselves to be in service to us – what a privilege!
Every day that you live your life, including your Spirit Guide in it, through your thoughts and your internal conversations, you are strengthening your ability to receive messages from them. It is an evolution that takes place very subtly at a steady pace. There will be a time when you didn’t know your Spirit Guide and didn’t know that you were receiving any form of communication from them. Then there will be now and it will never be as it was. Connecting to your Spirit Guide in a way that makes you consciously aware of them, is to live your life in a way that you have never lived it before. Having your Spirit Guide with you to talk to about anything and everything in your life, unless you experience it yourself, is something that is actually quite difficult to explain to anyone. But you will notice the difference in your life. It is just amazing!
