This meditation is designed to begin to gently bring about healing. Sit in a comfortable straight-backed chair with your spine erect. Lay your hands softly in your lap with the palms facing upwards. Relax and be at peace. For a little while forget all your troubles and problems. Just enjoy the short journey you are about to take into the realms of light. Close your eyes and breathe a little deeper and deeper. Begin to feel that you are wrapped in a warm soft cloak. This cloak represents pure love. It is enfolding you and raising you in consciousness into the world of light, the world of spirit.
Let’s begin our meditation with the Great Invocation…
From the point of light within the mind of God, let light stream forth into the minds of men. Let light descend on earth.
From the point of love within the heart of God, let love stream forth into the hearts of men. May Christ return to earth.
From the centre where the will of God is known, let purpose guide the little wills of men. The purpose which the masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men, let the plan of love and light work out. And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let light and love and power restore the plan on earth.
Using your inner vision you find yourself in a beautiful rose garden. It is a warn summer’s day with a gentle breeze blowing, bringing to you the perfume of the roses. Walk around the garden for a little while, stopping to admire the many different coloured blooms. You are drawn to a rose of a particular hue. Stop and gaze at the wonder of its creation. Look at the formation of the petals, the way the centre is gently curved to protect the heart of the flower. On one of the petals is a droplet of water, which is reflecting the pure and gentle radiation of the flower. The colour you have chosen has a special meaning just for you. Meditate on this and you will receive the benefit of the qualities of that individual rose. Without picking the flower, hold its image against your heart. Feel the rose opening as your heart centre expands, sending waves of love to all creation living in the physical world.
In the centre of the garden you will see a magnificent temple. It is circular in shape with the roof open to the night sky. The walls are shimmering with light giving an iridescent image of many different colours. There are two large pillars at the front of the temple, with wide steps running up to them. At the top of the slope you see a figure clothed in white with his hands outstretched in welcome. He bids you climb the steps and enter the temple beside him. This is one of the many healing centres in the world of spirit and as you walk in between the pillars you are aware of a feeling of intense love and peace flooding through your whole body.
The inside of the temple appears to be lit with a pure blue light that is pouring through the open roof. Around the walls you will notice seven stained-glass windows through which are reflected the seven colours of the spectrum. Under these windows are positioned low comfortable couches, upon which are reclining the patients who have been brought here for healing. Never forget that you can bring with you anyone who is in need of the calming rays. Behind the couches, under the stained-glass windows, are seven great angels of healing, directing the colours down onto their sick patients. In the centre of the temple is an altar made of pure crystal, which is glowing with light. Behind the altar appears the great healer himself, the Master Jesus. His hands are raised in blessing and as you look into his eyes you see that they are filled with a deep love and compassion. He knows all your troubles and your problems. Always remember that you are never alone, he is always waiting to give strength and comfort. If you wish, lie down on one of the couches and ask that help be given to you. You may just prefer to sit and be filled with love and light, pouring healing from your own heart to all the suffering people of the world or anyone you know personally to be in trouble.
When you are ready to leave, climb down the steps and find yourself once more in the rose garden. Spend just a short time walking on the grass between the bushes. Listen to the birds and watch the bees collecting nectar from the flowers.
With reluctance, it is time to depart and you see in front of you a pathway leading through a gateway and out of the garden. As you walk down this path you are slowly lowering your vibrations until you find yourself back in your chair and in your familiar surroundings. Just stretch your arms and feel your feet on the ground. Imagine yourself wrapped in a cloak of light and protection. You are once more ready to face the world, filled with healing love and peace that will give you strength to face any worries in the coming days or weeks.
Before you take up your daily life once more, let us close off this meditation with this beautiful prayer :
Oh, Great Spirit,
whose voice I hear in the winds
and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me.
I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes
ever behold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have made
and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand
the things you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have hidden
in every leaf and rock.
I seek strength, not to be superior to my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy – myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes,
so when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my spirit will come to you
without shame.
