Take from A Healers Journey into Light by Lorna Todd
Whereas eastern religion incorporate the law of reincarnation and the law of cause and effect within their teachings, here in the West arguments have always raged within the Christian denominations, who refuse to believe in either concept. Many pages and books have been written covering this vase subject but, as with all spiritual laws, it is only through personal evidence that truth becomes reality. I will therefore try to explain my experiences, through which I have gained knowledge and insight into a small section of these complicated and monumental edicts.
Reincarnation is the only interpretation of continuing existence that has ever made sense to me. How can any human expect to become an image of the Christ in one short lifetime of ‘three score years and ten’? Why do we have people who devote their whole lives in serving the light, like Mother Teresa, while others only glimpse a small spark of that divine glow? Why do we have geniuses like Einstein and Mozart? Could they really gather all that learning in such a limited time? Of course not. We spend many incarnations, perfecting one particular facet of ourselves, like a diamond that needs much cutting, shaping and polishing. Great artists, musicians and actors etc, don’t just acquire these gifts by luck. They are learned, through life, after life, by practice and still more practise. This also applies to healers, teachers and mediums. Our time on earth is a schoolroom, where we learn our lessons through many mistakes and eventually achieve our certificates of merit. We then return to our real life in the world of spirit where we share our knowledge with a particular group to which we belong. As with all spiritual attainments we don’t do it just for our own ego; it has to be distributed for the good of all. The great wheel of destiny keeps turning while we small sparks keep evolving.
At this point I would like to pay tribute to an exceptional soul by the name of Edmund Harold. This gentleman was at one time the President of Sussex Healers and is a splendid seer, medium, lecturer, healer and adventurer. He has travelled in several countries, teaching and sharing his abilities and at the present time is living in the Blue Mountains in Australia. He has written a number of books on spiritual development and healing. When he is in this country I always try to visit him, as I have found him to be of enormous assistance. He has given me good advice and stopped me from straying too far off my allotted path.
The first time I met Edmunds, he told me of a time when I had lived in France in the sixteenth century. He said that I had worked closely with Nostradamus as a helper with the plague victims of that time. He said that I ignored the muck and the stench, but just concentrated on the sick and dying. I meditated on his theory and believe it to be true. I remember, as a child, having a dream where I was surrounded by very sick people lying on straw beds. There was much vomiting and bleeding from the nose and mouth. I wasn’t bothered by this and was busy trying to make them drink some sort of liquid from a shallow cup.
I have since investigated the life of Michel de Notre Dame, also known as Nostradamus, and discovered a man of extreme moral strength and valour. When he first became involved with the plague victims, he worked in a town called Aix-en-Provence. By the time he arrived in the stricken area, a large proportion of the inhabitants were dead. It was springtime, with birds singing and sheep grazing in the fields. In the streets of the town, however, it was a different matter. The burial carts were piled high with dead victims, on their way to the outskirts of the town where mass graves had been dug. The church bells tolled all day and the air was fetid with rotting flesh and the smell of terror and death. Corpses lay in the streets and houses stood empty, looted of their contents. It was in the midst of all this hopelessness that my work began, aiding Michel with his healing ministrations.
Nostradamus knew no fear of contagion. He believed that a clean body internally and externally would combat any disease. He mixed potions from freshly collected herbs and had particular success with a blend of mulched rose petals. The first sign of this virulent type of plague was a dreadful nose bleed. When held in the mouth, this concoction of roses probably acted as an antiseptic. Nostradamus worked for nine months at Aix, during which time he had considerable success and brought optimism instead of dread to the people of that stricken town. My close association with this great man was, I think, a stepping-stone on my healing path towards the light.
Closely following my talk with Edmund came a further revelation during the time that I was working with the Southwick clinic. A middle-aged man named Alex arrived one Monday evening in a sad and sorry state. He had suffered a very serious car crash six months previously in which he broke many bones and severely damaged the top of his skull, affecting his crown chakra. Alex had been unconscious for several days before awakening in hospital and undergoing operations to mend his shattered legs and ribs. It wasn’t his physical body, however, that was the problem. He found that the bash to the top of his head had left him clairvoyant. He discovered that if he looked at a person he could see clearly scenes from their past and sometimes, their future. Alex described it as looking at a picture show, with events flashing before his eyes. To a man who had given no thought to spiritual matters, it was a fearful and hard scenario to come to terms with.
Alex came to us for about six months. During that time we gave him healing and extensive counselling. Slowly he began to accept this condition without imagining that he was going mad. We helped him learn to disconnect, so that he was not continuously clairvoyant. He became mindful of the fact that he could be of service to his fellow man. It have often wondered what happened to Alex when he stopped attending our clinic.
