If it is true that we do live more than one life, why is it that we don’t remember our previous lives? Maybe the question should be, why don’t we consciously remember our past lives? Essentially we do have memories of our past lives. Every experience that we have as a soul is imprinted in the DNA of our soul. Each experience lives within our soul, very real and also very accessible. At any time that we feel the necessity, we are able to go back and explore what our soul has experienced, where we have lived, what we have done. We can also do this purely out of curiosity.
However, I feel I have to caution. There is great responsibility in accessing previous life experiences and the reason I say this, is that unless there is something in this lifetime that you are finding particularly challenging or particularly difficult to understand or overcome, then there is no reason for you to know what you have done in a previous life. Knowing can adversely affect how you feel about yourself in this lifetime. You could discover something about yourself that does not resonate with you right now, that you find difficult to wrap your head around, and because of this knowledge, you could inadvertently affect the trajectory of your soul’s current path. Essentially you could present yourself with challenges that you would not have had to face otherwise.
I know that this goes against what we generally believe in terms of us choosing our life path and all those very big things that we decide on prior to our birth. And finding out about a past life for the sake of knowing, whilst it won’t affect your contract for this lifetime, it could set you back in terms of your current spiritual growth. That is also not to say that you will regress spiritually because that’s just not a possibility, but it can prevent you from moving forward as you had planned.
There are many instances where knowing our past lives and what we did, where we lived, and what we achieved, can be very advantageous to us. Bear in mind that the soul remembers. On a soul level, just as you currently remember everything about your life and know where you are and what you have achieved, your soul is exactly the same. Your soul knows what you have set out to do. Your soul knows where you are on your spiritual journey and your soul knows what you still need to learn and overcome to achieve spiritual perfection.
Through meditation and connecting to our higher self, this is easily achieved and with gentle guidance from our spirit guides, we can keep in touch with our higher self. We keep in touch with the universal consciousness and we are afforded perfect opportunities to check in with where we are in terms of our chosen contract and what we need to do to be keeping to that contract thus spurring us on in terms of our spiritual evolution and keeping us ‘on track’ so to speak.
There are many instances where we consciously remember our past lives. When we are very young, of course this is much more easily achieved or comes to us more naturally. As we grow into adulthood, the process of daily living, moves us a little further away from where we were when we first incarnated into this lifetime and so the memories can become a little less clear or may fade completely. Remember too that we bring back into a lifetime, everything that we need in terms of how spiritually evolved we are, in order to achieve what we set out to do in this lifetime and what we set out to achieve. Sometimes it may not feel that you are evolving spiritually, but remember that you are, all the time. Every part of your life is contributing to the healing of your soul which in turn facilitates the evolution of your spiritual journey.
