This is probably one of the most difficult questions to answer. With so many religious belief systems in place and so many mystical and esoteric belief systems, pagan and ancient religions – who is to know what is accurate and what is the best course for you.
In trying to get to the bottom of this, from my perspective, I honestly believe that everything has it’s place. And I say this because no matter what you believe, there is one common thread that runs through all belief systems, and that is that we should all be living our life in service to one another and for the greater good of all mankind. All belief systems teach unconditional love, kindness, acceptance and tolerance for one another.
If asked what religion am I – I would answer Spiritualist. But within that set of beliefs, I have formulated my own opinions, and my own set of beliefs based on what I have been taught by my Spirit Guides. The only advice I can give anyone is to read as much as you can and remember that just because it’s printed somewhere does not make it true. It is a lot to do with what resonates with your soul. What is it that makes you feel comfortable and feel like you belong – that’s important.
To live your life spiritually aware is to know that there is a greater power that controls or dominates over the entire universe. To live your life spiritually is to know that other people are just as important as you and to make judgement of their choices and their lives, is to make judgement on yourself. To live your life spiritually is to always have the best interests of everyone top most in your mind. That’s not to say that you should become subservient and that you put yourself last in everything. It’s about knowing that we are all here for the same purpose and even when it is most difficult to see that, you need to reach deep down into your soul, and find that understanding.
To live your life spiritually is to accept that we all have made different choices for this lifetime that we have come to live. It is to know that within those different choices, we are still able to influence each other, we are still able to help each other, to encourage each other and to know that ultimately we will all be returning to the very same place from which we all have come.
That beautiful greeting of the Hindu People, Namaste – the God in Me greets the God in You, for me is such a reminder of who we are. Each and every one of us an emanation and extension of the Great I Am, the Creator of all life. And in knowing that, we are absolutely responsible for living our lives seeing ourselves as emissaries of the Creator. To know this is to understand how big your responsibility is to each other and to yourself.
To live your life spiritually is to be consciously aware of how your thoughts, your actions, your words, affects yourself and affects those with whom you have various relationships. Conducting yourself in a manner that is mindful at all times of the fact that you are powerful and you have the privilege of using the powerful creative energy of the Great I Am to mould not only your life, but those around you.
Conscious awareness is the key to everything. Doing what you’ve always done, because it’s familiar is a cop out and an excuse for not enforcing change in your life. Conscious awareness keeps you focused on constant evolution of your self and with constant evolution of yourself, you bring about constant evolution of your soul. And that is your purpose – to grow, to develop, to become a better person with every breath that you take.
