All the lines that run parallel to and on the insides of earth lines are fire-governed. In their strongest physical manifestation they originate from Mars mounts above the protrusion of the thumbs and in their pathway down the earth-governed Venus mounts, are deep and long. These are the traditional Mars lines.
Fire governed features in hands add life force. The significance of fire lines pertain to the strength of earth and fire lines in combination; in the same way that diamonds form, together these elements earth with fire forge, and harden.
The variables of arrangements, lengths and depths of fire lines give clues as to the sources and amount of a person’s energy; they also suggest where their resources might be directed.
Mars is the fiery god of war. When long, deeply etched lines accompany well-formed earth lines, physiology strengthens. Owners have supply of vitality; they have strong digestive function with increased constitutional resilience. These forms of fire lines are commonly present in the hands of physically orientated high-stamina sporty types, as well as in the hands of surgeons, who must harness active fire energies for their work. Those with this version of fire lines might also be quick to anger. Healers too often have deep fire lines. As channels they produce heat and readily feel enlivening energy currents coursing through their hands.
Another palmistry interpretation, especially of fairly deep fire lines, is that owners receive relational assistance from supportive people. Additionally, with their traditional name-tag of ‘sister’ lines, we might read that it is specifically a sister who lends the person a hand, however, many of us with these lines have no sisters.
But lines on the balls of thumbs which run alongside earth lines manifest in several other variables; they might also be thin, short, or lie in slightly obtuse angles. They may hang suspended, without any apparent starting point, as if floating free and unattached. They may be present only in small sections, and perhaps somewhere in their trajectory, might originate from, or be linked to earth lines.
It is the oft found thinner and more delicate versions, which are also called ‘influence’ and ‘angelic protection’ lines, that in readings serve as entry portals into spiritual enquiry. These fainter lines have meanings far deeper than just the physical.
When we delve, as we must in every reading, into discussion about the person’s historical and current religious and spiritual views, fire lines are highly relevant. Interpretations for the finer variables of fire lines link directly to non-material spheres being the person’s source of sustenance; they refer readers specifically to potential or felt spiritual consciousness.
Mention of support from unseen realms might open the conversation; the client will share about their active, alive relationships with guides seen and felt, as ancestors, grandparents, parents, children, animals, friends who have passed, as well as angels, totem animal guides, Higher Selves, ascended masters and other high level spirit beings with whom they communicate. Resilience to life’s challenges comes to them from spirit; they turn inwards for spiritual support, and in turn, sustenance can be drawn upon to offer spiritual comfort to others.
For many, conscious awareness of spiritual guides may not have yet arisen, but it is unlikely that this interpretation of their lines won’t fascinate. People are curious about or even long to lean into these realms. They are interested in the spirit world and want to sense the presence of and commune with guides, but don’t know how. They ask about methods for contacting a guide and are open to visualization and to cultivating this sensitivity.
In this case, the hand reader might consider facilitating or recommending a meditative guided visualization to invoke and acknowledge the presence of unseen friends; when opening to the senses, these personal guides, counsellors and mentors, evoked from within, may appear in human, animal or angelic form, and with surprising clarity, with attire, gender, name and more appearing vividly.
Sensing and trusting the images, messages, metaphors, smells and other senses that one or many guides impart to us takes commitment to the relationship. In time, communing with them can be experienced in vivid detail.
Another theme that relates directly to the presence of fire lines and which regularly arises in readings is to do with psychic protection. Especially for people from several cultures who have strongly intractable beliefs in spell casting, black magic and demonic spirit possession.
When a person asserts that they are being psychically invaded by entities and that they need safeguarding, we meet them where they are. If they believe that a spell is cast upon them, we honor them by holding presence, listening, not judging or offering viewpoints that contradict or in any way marginalize or minimize the intensity of their subjective experience.
Advising them to draw on the energies of their fire lines, that they will find support from invisible helpers, that their lines serve as psychic buffers might be helpful. Readers are also at liberty to offer means of spiritual defense such as prayer, visualization, banishing or other ritual, ceremony or magic spells.
