One question that we hear so often is “Am I on the correct path?” When you think about it and understand that everything is exactly as it should be, then surely the answer should be as clear as day. Of course we are all on the correct path for what exactly is the ‘correct’ path?
We need to consider that everything that comes into our lives comes about because of a choice that we have made with our free will. In hindsight sometimes, we realise that perhaps that particular choice that we made was not necessarily the wisest choice, because with 20/20 vision, it is always easy to see that there was, at that time, more than one choice that we could make. However, every choice that we make, sends us down a path of experience from which we can take learning and taking learning from an experience contributes to our growth and development. To put those learnings into action within our lives, although not always that easy, contributes even more to our growth and development. It leads us to a state of non-judgement and acceptance. Even if at this point in our lives we’re not completely there, we are in a constant state of evolution that will ultimately bring us to completion.
It is only through experience that we can grow both as human and as spiritual individuals. However, keeping top of mind that we are spirit and not human, for human is a state of illusion, is of utmost importance. For it is when we concentrate and place our focus on our spiritual development, that the human side of us will prosper and benefit. And all things in our life will just fall into place and yes, everything will be as it should!
So, I would say that to question the path that you’re on, whilst not a bad thing in itself, could be completely futile, if you are not going to take a conscious decision to work on that path. What I’m trying to say here, is that if you are unsure or unsatisfied in any way, then only you can make a decision to change your situation and only you can take the steps necessary to change your situation. And this is where our free will comes in. For, we do have free choice. We can accept that our lives are a certain way and accept that that is how things are going to be and make the most of it, or we can make a decision that we want change or we want things to be different and the only way to make things different is if you do it yourself. And this can be done either through taking yourself completely out of the situation or working on yourself to change how you handle that particular situation which will automatically influence the people around you and ultimately bring about the change that you so desire.
Never forget that you have spirit guides, spirit helpers, and angels in other realms for a reason. Their purpose is to help us whilst we are in the school of human experience. However, because we let our ego get in the way so much and we focus on the unimportant in our lives way too much, we don’t always remember to call them into our space and ask for their assistance. Living your life connected to your guides and to your loved ones who have passed before, creates a sense of connectedness and means that you never feel alone. And knowing that you are not alone in any endeavour even if that endeavour is just getting through a single day, gives our confidence a boost and our sense of self-worth a boost. They love us unconditionally. Never judging, never getting irritated, annoyed or angry with us. They may feel a little frustrated with us from time to time, but never in a negative way and never that they will withdraw from us. So, call on them to help you and be with you every day. It doesn’t have to be only for the big things in your life. It doesn’t have to be only when you feel like you are drowning. Connect every morning and re-connect at night. Give thanks for them spending time with you and for the opportunities that they present us with every day – you will be surprised at how much more aware you become of so much around you.
This path, this experience of the school of human existence, is meant for us to walk together. Together we are so much stronger, and so much more able to withstand what life throws at us. Never forget that!
We are all courageous beings
Our lives should be a journey of discovery spurred on by ambition and a yearning for great things. How has your journey been so far? Each and every day, we are discovering new things about ourselves. Whether these are good or bad, does it really matter? Surely for the good things, it should inspire us to work even harder at perfecting that particular ‘thing’ and for the bad, we should be even more greatly inspired to at least get that ‘bad thing’ on the road to perfection.
We are all ambitious – some more than others. We all yearn for life to be smooth sailing without any humps and bumps in the road. But really – what would our lives be without those humps and bumps? Would we feel the necessity to improve on our standard of living? Would we feel the necessity to improve on our interactions with others? Would we feel the necessity to bring about any kind of change? Probably not.
It is because we have those ups and downs, because we experience everything that living an earthly existence has to offer us and in some peoples’ cases even more – that we want; that we need and that we try to fulfil those wants and needs. This is what life is all about. It is only in living each moment that life has to give that we can become complete.
Don’t allow life to pass you by. Don’t allow yourself to miss out on anything, and make every moment of every day count. Go to bed at night feeling that you have made a positive contribution. It doesn’t have to be anything big. It only needs to leave you feeling a sense of worth, belonging and accomplishment. Give yourself credit for everything that you do, for we are all courageous beings. The fact that we have decided to live on the earth is testament to the courage that we have, the strength that each and every one of us has deep within and the level of our commitment to self-discovery and spiritual growth.
So when you’re feeling like life is passing you by, make a conscious effort to re-assess. Make a conscious effort to evaluate your contribution to life in a positive light, recognising that you are doing ‘it’ every day whether you are aware of it or not.
