I so often hear this question and it makes me really sad. Why does it make me sad? For two reasons. Firstly being clairvoyant or psychic or whatever you’d like to label it, is not a gift. And secondly, we are all spirit and so we are all clairvoyant. Each and every single person on the earth, has the ability to connect to spirit. We all have the ability to connect to our guides and we all have the ability to see into our past lives. We all have the ability to heal ourselves, to align our own chakras and yes, even to do our own readings.
Now this may sound counter-intuitive, especially due to the fact that I do readings and teach mediumship. I feel it necessary to bring to your attention that being a medium is different in that it is essentially a service to mankind. It falls within the ambit of lightworkers as do people who do reiki and any other modality that exists in the service of humans and their spiritual enlightenment or growth.
This then leaves the question around everyone being able to connect to spirit and everyone being able to facilitate their own spiritual growth etc. There is a general consensus that we are all spirit and we are all here living out a human existence that was chosen by us prior to us being born into this life. And so within that consensus, it stands to reason, that we should all be able to connect to spirit. We should all be able to connect to our guides and receive guidance and inspiration in terms of our own lives. This is also what I mean when I say that we can all heal ourselves as well. In connecting to spirit, not everyone may be able to receive a download of information as a trained medium, however, it is possible for everyone to speak to their guides and vice versa. In fact, it happens to us all on a daily basis, we sometimes just don’t make the connection. And when we don’t know what we’re looking for in order to make that connection, it does go unnoticed.
In terms of being able to connect to spirit being a gift, my reasoning is that if it is that we are all spirit (and we are) and if it is that we all come from the spirit world (which we do), then why would it be a gift to be able to connect?
Lightworkers are here to assist everyone. They have chosen a particular path for this life and have worked really hard on working with spirit, particularly mediums. As with anything in life, the more you practice to do something the better you become at it. And so it is with mediums, who do readings on a regular basis. The more we as mediums connect to spirit, the easier it becomes. It’s almost as if as a medium, one is able to keep one’s vibration at a much higher level which facilitates connecting.
I guess the purpose of this article is to bring to everyone’s attention, the fact that we all have a connection to spirit, it is after all, our home. Know that you are spirit and that you are not the body that you inhabit. By all means, when life gets tough, make contact with a medium to assist you in receiving the guidance and inspiration that you need at that time. However, it’s a really good idea for you to work on being able to connect yourself as well. And it’s actually so easy. It is done through meditation and the more you meditate and learn how to quieten your mind and raise your vibrations, you will become aware of your guides and loved ones around you. How cool is that!
