Instead of a series of end-of-year retreats, from December 15 to January 20 this year we are offering an open and on-going monastery-ashram style period of practice at Dharmagiri. We will have structured mornings of practice including chanting, meditation, dream sharing circles, movement and body-based practices with afternoons open for individual meditation, walking, reading, sitting outside in nature, etc. and an hour of group dialogue at the end of each afternoon. In the evenings we will have group meditation sittings with dharma talks every second evening, exploring different areas of the Buddha’s teachings as they relate to our experience.
We will celebrate together the meaning of Christmas as the spirit of loving-kindness, compassion and forgiveness and the meaning of entering into a new year as a time of reviewing our lives and renewing our commitment to living our lives in a worthwhile way according to our deepest intentions and aspirations.
