I’m busy reading ‘The Feminine Face of God’, by Sherry Ruth Anderson & Patricia Hopkins. Oh wow, what an eye opener. I’ll share with you here, a piece from the back cover…
‘For many contemporary women, the old patriarchal models of religion are no longer relevant, forming a need to look beyond the male-oriented past to a wider, more fulfilling spiritual horizon. In this fascination and thought-provoking book, Sherry Anderson and Patricia Hopkins show how many women have redefined traditional beliefs and rediscovered their own unique spiritual heritage.’
It got me thinking about how many female clients I have vs male clients. It has also got me thinking how over history women everywhere have been coerced into seeing the world from a male perspective.
Along my very personal spiritual journey, I have met so many incredibly unique and beautiful women who have fearlessly and courageously been forging out their own path – turning inward and finding and reconnecting with their true inner beauty. It has been so encouraging and a true privilege to be part of their journeys, witnessing their awakening to a new and personal spiritual way of living and in so doing, I have reaped the benefit of experiencing my own awakening. I have for so long, been part of a group of ladies who work tirelessly in service to others. This wonderful group of ladies, too many to name in this article, have each played and will continue to play, an incredibly important role in my life. I have such a strong belief that we are all here to support each other along our individual spiritual journeys and within those journeys, we experience everything that there is, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, friend, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, sisters-in-law. How easily we take on these roles and how easily we embrace them with love and gratitude.
Women have an innate capacity to relate to each other and throughout my life, all the many women who make up my family, my friends, my clients, my acquaintances, have each in their own special way, shown me what it means to stand up, to own up, to show up.
I’m not yet finished reading this wonderful book, but I do know that all the beautiful women in my life, including myself, have all found and seen the feminine face of God. And in fact, we each represent the feminine face of God.
May we all continue to go forward into our future, safe in the knowledge that the feminine face of God will always be our guiding light. May we never waiver in our faith in ourselves to live our best life, one deepseated in love and support and gratitude for all that we have.
